Those AOL CDs

A company called American Online, or AOL for short used to have a bunch of CDs that could be picked up for free from anywhere, like the grocery store or video store. These CDs would include free dial-up internet access, but it was a trial, usually only lasting a month. Sometimes these CDs would arrive in the mail. Because these CDs are flimsy and in mass quantity, some people favor throwing the CDs at people as if they were frisbees. There are other bad uses for these AOL CDs, such as putting them in the microwave for a few seconds. These unorthodox uses are not recommended.
