Van Gogh and Epilepsy

Vincent Van Gogh, a very popular Dutch painter had a love for absinthe, which is a strong beverage that might cause hallucinations. Currently, absinthe does not contain the same ingredients as it did back in Van Gogh's day, making it considerably weaker now. The one thing that Van Gogh is famous for is chopping off his own ear. There are many theories as to why he would do such a thing. Some people say it was the absinthe, but others have a different theory. Some believed that Van Gogh suffered from epilepsy and accidentally chopped off his own ear during a seizure.
