Weather in Erie, Pennsylvania The weather in Erie, Pennsylvania is very dramatic. Because of the closeness of Lake Erie, lake effect weather occurs. Erie is in the top twenty snowiest and rainiest places in the country. Sometimes it will snow all day, and by the next day, it feels like summer and all the snow is gone. The summers are very warm, and the winters are full of snow, so the locals never really know what to expect.
